In a heartwarming gesture, the Lebanese Nigerian Initiative (LNI), a non-profit organization formed by prominent members of the Lebanese community in Nigeria, has presented a fully funded MBA scholarship to Mr. Bosun Adebola, a promising young IT specialist.
This scholarship marks a significant opportunity for Mr. Adebola, who is now on his way to pursue his MBA at the prestigious American University of Beirut (AUB) in Lebanon. This initiative is part of the $1.5 million LNI-AUB endowment fund, which aims to sponsor a Nigerian student every year to attend the MBA program at AUB, for as long as the university and the Earth endure.
Ajibola Olubando and Johnson Nwazuruahu, the two previous recipients of this scholarship, have since graduated and are making notable contributions to Nigeria’s political economy. Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony held at the Lebanese Consulate in Lagos, Mr. Ali Safieddine, Vice-chairman of LNI, expressed the organization’s deep appreciation for the enduring relationship between Nigeria and the Lebanese community, which spans over 120 years since the first generation of Lebanese settled in Nigeria.

One key criterion for the LNI-AUB MBA scholarship is that the recipients must return to Nigeria upon completing their studies to effect positive change in any sector of the economy. This commitment ensures that the education and knowledge gained abroad are put to good use in Nigeria.
Mr. Elias Nicolas, Consul General of Lebanon in Nigeria, highlighted the incredible opportunities for learning and growth that await the LNI-AUB scholars in Lebanon.
Mr. Nicolas expects the LNI scholars to become ambassadors, bridging the cultural gap and sharing insights about both countries.
