Exams over head? Feeling anxious or tensed?

It is quite obvious for every student to feel nervous and stressed thinking about their upcoming exams. This is even more common among those who neglect their books all round year and rely on last-moment preparation.

How to Study Effectively for Exams

While this isn’t the right approach to prepare for the exams, sitting 12-hours continuously cramming notes isn’t healthy even.

Here we are sharing a few tips to help you adopt a right approach towards your upcoming examination.

 1. Drop the Idea of last-moment Studies

Rome was not built in a day and so are the toppers. Be it your board exam or your management entrance, each and every, that too, from the beginning matters. You cannot complete our entire syllabus in a week. Hence, start small and proceed small. Avoid taking huge portions and cover small quantities of course. You won’t even realise how much course you’ve already covered a month before your exams.

 2. De-clutter your mind and study environment

Negative thoughts and messy study space is a barrier to your performance. Study year long or study a month before, a messed up mind and environment would never allow you to learn things properly. Get rid of all the distractions, stay away from negative emotions or thoughts, and make yourself as comfortable as you can when you study. Also, take time to organise your study space before and after you study.

 3. Take Breaks Regularly

Just like your stomach needs food at regular intervals, your brains needs rest.Hence, do not sit continuously for more than 2 hours and take short breaks. Also, during your breaks, do not indulge in activities or thoughts that can impact your mind negatively. Do something that makes you feel happy and relaxed. For example, listen to your favourite music or go for a 10-15mins walk.

 4. Keep a Notebook and Pen Handy

Make sure that you keep a notebook and a pen in your hand whenever you are studying. Write-and-learn is a surefire way to perform well in exams. The human mind tends to remember things more that are read and written. Hence, make notes while you read any chapter. Not only will you learn things faster, but these notes will help you summarise your syllabus a day before your exams.
